Setup a Multi-Source Donation Page

Scroll Prev Top Next More

Normally the donation page's functionality only allows a contact to donate to only one Source Code per payment. Splitting a single payment along multiple Source Codes is however possible to do if you have setup a Multi-Source Donation Page. For the following guide it will be assumed that you are already familiar with the basic process of setting up a standard Donation Page. See Setup the Donation Pages and Manage Donation Confirmation Pages for further information.

1.To setup Multi-Source Donations you will first need to create a Multi-Donation Composition (after having created a standard Process Page and Donation Step).

2.Now that the Multi-Donation Composition has been added you will then need to create at least one Donation Composition inside of it. Each Donation Composition within the Multi-Donation Composition will correspond to an individual Source Code that the user can split their payment across.

3.Pressing the + button above will automatically create a new, nested Donation Composition within the Multi Donation Composition. Each of these donations will then need to be configured individually with their own Source Code, Donation Amount and Payment Frequency fields. Note that Payment Frequency is an optional field that can be excluded for each Source in favour of a Payment Frequency that applies to all Source Codes. More on this is explained in Donation Fields applied to all Source Codes.

4.For example in this case we will create a Donation Source Code that allows the user to select the “Alpha Fund” source code along with a Donation Amount of either $5, $10 or $15  permitted. In addition they will get the option to select either a One-Off Payment or a Monthly Donation.

5.You can also configure the display of text or an image for this donation if you want. If you add an image then when the user clicks on that image on the page it will reveal the input fields, if there is no image then this donation source will have a button with the text you have typed in Multi Donation Title.

6.You have now set up one Multi-Source Donation. To setup more please repeat steps 3 to 5 as many times as required, each with a different Source Code and if required different Donation Amounts/Payment Frequencies.

7.After setting up all of the different Source Codes make sure that you have made whatever other changes or additions to your page as required and then select the link in the Info tab to preview your page.
