If a donor is unable to pay one or more instalments, the relevant instalments can be written down.  The Pledge remains active, meaning that the donor still intends to make future payments.  If the donor wants to stop making payments altogether, then you will need to write down the whole Pledge.  

To write down an instalment or a selection of instalments but still keep the pledge active, you will need to select Write Down this Instalment or Write Down Selection of Instalments from the right click menu on the Instalments tab. This will result in the instalment being written off. The instalments will be moved to the lower portion of the form.

Write Down Overdue Instalments for this selection will write down any overdue instalments for the records that have been selected and are showing on the record selector. A search could be performed from the Search button to find any Pledges with overdue instalments.

Written Down Reasons can be setup in Lookup Values in the Finance folder.

Note: This is not the same as writing down a complete pledge!

1.Right click on the instalment to write down and select Write Down this Instalment.

2.Click Yes to confirm you want to write the instalment down.

3.Select a Reason for Writing the instalment down, Click OK.

The instalment will be displayed in the lower part of the form and will have a status of Written Down.

When instalments are Placed on Hold, Removed from Hold or Written down this information can be found under the Audit tab.
