For each type of Barcode you’ll be using, you’ll need to set up the barcode in thankQ. When the Barcode is scanned, thankQ will then know what actions it must perform.
1.Click the Barcode Purpose Id icon under the Administration menu.
2.To create a new barcode purpose, click New.
3.The new barcode purpose will be assigned a unique ID, which is shown in the Purpose ID field. Barcode purpose IDs start with a U.
4.Select the barcode type on the Barcode Purpose drop down menu. There are six types of barcodes and each will trigger a different action.
•Event Attendance – when an Event Attendance barcode is scanned the contact record will be marked as attending the event, event associated with this barcode-purpose can be entered on the Values tab at the bottom of the form.
5.Fill in the Event details on the Barcode Purpose form.
•Description – Enter a description for the Barcode and its purpose.
•Event ID – If the barcode is an Event Attendance barcode, select an event to associate with the barcode. When the barcode is scanned the contact will be marked as attending or having attended this event. Click the Pick List button to select the Event from a list.
6.Click OK to create the Barcode Purpose.
