Before creating a new template you must consider its purpose. Will it be a letter sent to contacts, a receipt or a letter regarding an event? Templates are arranged into folders according to their purpose. Below are some examples.

Batch |
Templates in the Batch folder will reference information from the Batch information form. Receipt templates for payments should be stored in this folder. |
Contact |
Templates in this folder will reference information recorded on the Contact Details form. All documents which do not fall into any other category should be placed in the Contact folder. Templates for Appeal Letters should go in this folder. |
Event |
Templates in the Event folder will reference information recorded in the Event module. These templates will be used for the organisation of an event including invitations, bookings or thank you letters for the event. |
Membership |
Templates that deal with New Memberships or Memberships due for Renewal. |
Merchandise |
Templates related to the sale of products. |
Pledges |
Templates in the Pledges folders are used for Pledge Reminder letters. Pledge Reminders can be loaded in the Mail Manager module. |
Receipt |
Templates in the Receipt folder are used for Receipt Summaries that are sent out to donors periodically. |
Sponsorship |
Templates related to Sponsorship correspondence. |
