thankQ Help

The password reset interface allows users to reset their passwords if they have forgotten what they are. If you want to set this interface up please follow these steps:

1.         Go to the Login Page Details tab of your web page and use the + icon to add a Password Reset widget:

 PasswordResetPlus

 PasswordResetOption

2.        Once you have created the widget you will be presented with a very large number of options. The next steps will go through each of them:

 PasswordResetForm

3.        Forgot Password Username Option

From here you can set the password option which can be one of the following:

 - Serial Number.

 - Membership ID.

 - Username

 - Email Address (the default option).

 PasswordForgetOptions

This is what the user will need to enter before the password reset link is emailed to them. By default a user only needs to enter their Email Address but you can if you want also require them to enter their Serial Number, Username or Member ID instead before the link is emailed.
This also affects the labels as well. For example if you choose Username from the list you can enter a label that will be displayed for this on the page:
ForgotPasswordUsername
EnterYourUsername
4.Enter a forgot password label if you want to change it from the default. Enter the Top and Bottom Narratives of Forgot password to put a narrative above and below the box where you enter your details:

 ResetMyPassword

 TopBottomNarratives

 This displays as follows:

 ResetMyPassword2

5.Enter the Password Reset Confirmation - Narrative to set the message on the page that will be displayed to the user when they enter their details:

 PasswordResetNarrative

6.        You can set the caption for the button that returns you back to the original Sign In page:

 BackSignInCaption

7.Configure the email that is sent to the user when they have requested a password reset by clicking on the + icon and configuring the email accordingly:

 EmailSettingsForgetPasswordOption

8.        Set the Type to Forgot Password:

 ForgotPasswordConfirmationSelect

9.        Set the Email From Name, Email From and Email Subject fields for your email to the user:

 PasswordForgotEmailSubject

10.Enter the text and placeholder fields for the email sent to the user below. Note that you will need to add the password reset link in the Placeholder fields:
EmailContentResetPassword

 PortalMergeFieldsForgotPassword

11.        You can if you want also add attachments to the Email or HTML, however both of these are optional:

 AttachmentHTMLForgotPassword

12.        Set a message to be displayed to the users if they try to reset their password but don't have a registered email address in the database:

 NoEmailPasswordReset

13.        You can customise the narrative and the labels used on the page that the user is linked to:

 PasswordResetLabelsNarratives

 PasswordResetConfirmPage

14.You may also add an Email that will be sent to the user after they have reset their password. This works in a way similar to the password reset link:

 PasswordSuccessfullyResetEmailPlus

 PasswordResetEmailSettings

15.        Once the password is reset the user will receive a message on the next page that the password reset has worked:
