In this scenario we are going to import a new group with new contacts and update an existing group with new contacts.
The tables used in this import are the Group and Group Relationship tables. The data for this example is provided below:
In the above example the Group ID is always required if you are going to add contacts to a group or if you are updating an existing group. In addition all new groups require a Group Title and Group Category as well.
1.Create a new Data Import.
2.Click the ellipsis and load the spreadsheet.
3.Enter a Description.
4.Select Log Data when you are finished.
5. Save the Configuration if you want but in this example we do not need to as all of the columns were automatically matched so click No to continue.
6. Select Validate and then Yes when prompted.
7. | Close this tab and run through the Validation. Once the validation has been completed you can then run through Update and Import. Make sure that any validation errors you find along the way are resolved and then Re-Validated. |
8. | You can view the records you are importing by selecting the Import Records tab and then viewing each of the tables that you have imported your data into. |
9. | If you want to see the newly imported data then open the Groups form in thankQ and search for the imported data using the relevant search criteria such as the Group ID. |
