You can also filter the sublist criteria outside of Search Mode. This can be useful to perform a Search Within-A-Search. For example if you are searching for the Source Code 07APSUM in the previous example you will get all contacts which have at least one instance of that Source Code but if you want to ONLY show Payments with 07APSUM on a contact record then you can use the filter button after a Search:

It is important to note however that sublist filtering can be performed at any time. You do not need to conduct a search prior to doing so. The filter criteria works exactly the same as the search criteria.

You may also choose to report on the sublist criteria and the report will appropriately exclude the records you have filtered out. See Reports/Export to Excel for additional information on how to report on selected contacts in general.
